Pharmacy ClerkProvides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Ensures cleanliness of department. Orders product and supplies and logs invoices as necessary.Accountable and reports to: District Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Health Wellness Home, Store Operations and Perishables; Pharmacy Department Manager; Pharmacists.Primary duties and responsibilities include:Providing prompt, efficient and friendly customer serviceSmiling and greeting customers in a friendly mannerAssisting customers by escorting them to products, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests, performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experienceAnswering the telephone promptly and providing friendly, helpful service to customers who callStocking received product and supplies and marking stickers accordinglyWorking with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environmentReviewing prescriptions that are not picked up as requested by department managerOrdering product and supplies at the department manager’s requestReviewing invoices on product receivedCoordinating nursing home medicines as necessaryLogging invoices as necessaryPreparing the paper work and compiling medicine for delivery orders and mail outs at the request of the department managerCleaning, emptying garbage, etc. to ensure the pharmacy has a clean and inviting appearanceTaking orders for refills from customersRemoving trash in a timely mannerMaintaining strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dressGathering patient information required to prepare prescriptionsKeeping pharmacy supplies well stockedPerforming cash transactionsAdhering to company policies and individual store guidelinesReporting to work when scheduled and on timeAdministering vaccines as allowed by lawSecondary duties and responsibilities include:Completing the saleAssisting in other areas of store as neededPerforming other job related duties and special projects as requiredKnowledge, skills, abilities and worker characteristics include:Ability to follow written, verbal or diagrammatic instructionsAbility to do add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbersAbility to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; interview to obtain basic information; guide peopleEducation and experience: High school or equivalent experience. Over six months up to one year of similar or related experience. If applicable, vaccination certification as required by law.Physical requirements include:Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently; and exert a negligible amount of force constantly to move objectsVisual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), and field of visionAbility to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motionsWorking conditions include:Exposure to noise on a daily basisFast paced work environment with significant pressureOccasional exposure to dangerous chemicals/solvents while compounding products and chemotherapy drugsEquipment used to perform job includes: PC with pharmacy software and printer, cash register, pharmacy balance, scanner, calculator, telephone, fax, and copier.Confidentiality: Maintains the confidentiality of the customer's private medical information.Contacts: Deals with the general public on a daily basis, works with suppliers/vendors monthly.The anticipated hourly starting wage for this position is $16.00 to $20.00 depending on experience.
