Jois Contruction Management, Inc. , headquartered in Mercerville, New Jersey with an office in New York. is a professional Construction Management Company in business for over 38 years. We have an opening for Senior Construction Cost Estimator.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform development of conceptual through detailed cost estimates, including change orders.
- Review cost estimates for quality and completeness before submission to projects
- Support in development and maintenance of cost estimating database.
- Summary scope cost data for cost estimates (summary cost for major scope items)
- Ensure that all project data is properly stored and retrievable.
- Train junior staff in cost estimating.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
SKILLS
- 8 years or more of relevant experience in engineering or construction.
- Must be able to develop cost estimates for all project phases, including design and construction cost estimates at various stages of design and change order estimates.
- Must be proficient in quantity takeoff and pricing, developing labor/equipment new requirements, and estimating productivity rates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience in working in Transit.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
TOOLS and TECHNOLOGY
- Proficiency with multiple discipline-specific software applications such as HeavyBid (HCSS), On-Screen Takeoff (OST), RSMeans and Microsoft Office Applications.
- Adept with PC operating systems, with competency in several basic software applications.
