Chief Information Security Officer
The Chief Information Security Officer serves as the advisor to Census Bureau executive management on all areas of Information Technology Security and is responsible for:
- Developing and communicating the overall information security strategy, goals and objectives with appropriate performance measures to support bureau and department security requirements.
- Managing the monitoring and recording of the performance of information systems security initiatives.
- Recommending courses of action and policies to senior management that allow the Census Bureau to securely meet its organizational goals.
- Managing cybersecurity acquisition projects and budgets for a large Information Technology infrastructure environment; planning, implementing, and overall project management for cybersecurity objectives; and forming strategic partnerships to accomplish cybersecurity goals and objectives.
- Directing bureau-wide automation security programs that comply with federally mandated security requirements and commonly accepted industry automation security best practices.
Travel Required: Occasional Travel Description: Travel may be required to attend or present at meetings and conferences on topics relevant to the U.S. Census Bureau's mission.
