Metal Stamping Punch Press Technician

Location: Rogers, MN 55374
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (first shift)
Pay: $20–$22 per hour

A day in the life

At 6:00 AM your press bay is already organized and ready. You verify today’s work instructions, load tooling under guidance, and run first-piece checks with calipers and micrometers. Throughout the morning you keep a close eye on dimensions and surface finish, make basic adjustments, and document results. As production moves along, you’ll practice elements of setup—changeovers, dialing in clearances, and referencing setup sheets—growing your confidence each day. Safety, quality, and steady output guide every move you make. By 2:30 PM, your area is cleaned down and staged for the next run.

How you’ll grow

If you’ve operated presses but haven’t owned full setup before, this role is designed for you. We will train the right person in punch press setup, machine adjustments, and our specific production processes.

What you’ll do

• Operate punch press and related manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Learn and perform punch press setups, machine adjustments, and changeovers with training.
• Read and follow basic blueprints, work instructions, and setup sheets.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify product dimensions.
• Monitor production quality and make adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and perform minor machine maintenance.
• Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Work independently while maintaining productivity and attention to detail.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

What you bring

• Experience operating a punch press, stamping press, brake press, or similar manufacturing press equipment preferred.
• Previous machine setup experience is a plus; we will train the right candidate on punch press setup.
• Comfortable using calipers and micrometers, or willing to learn.
• Able to read basic blueprints and work instructions, or willing to learn.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for learning new equipment and processes.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
