Accountant

PrideStaff Financial, on behalf of a construction company, is seeking an experienced and professional Accountant who can manage, analyze, and report on the company's financial records. Responsibilities: Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring legal compliance. Create profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports to provide necessary information to management. Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions. Reconcile subsidiary accounts by verifying entries. Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries. Reconcile the general ledger by preparing a trial balance and verifying entries. Maintain historical records by filing documents systematically. Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. Calculate taxes and submit tax returns in compliance with applicable laws. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying regulations, enforcing adherence, filing reports, and advising management on necessary actions. Evaluate the organization's year-end financial accounts. Qualifications/Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited university. 7+ years of experience in a professional accounting role. Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and creativity. Knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and collaboration with business leaders. Must be able to submit to a background check and a drug screening.
