About the Position

Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Catheterization Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days with On-Call Rotation Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2 years of RN experience with 1 year of critical care experience required License: Current RN licensure Certifications: Current BLS certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Must-Have: - Graduate of an accredited nursing program - Cardiovascular intervention experience - Ability to pass EKG test Description: Utilizes the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, and standards of care. Ensures all documentation is accurate and comprehensive in accordance with established standards. Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individual needs of the patient. Utilizes resources available to teach and support patient and family education. Provides education at the appropriate level of understanding. Participates in performance improvement activities, including shared governance. Utilizes clinical expertise to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care. Acts to resolve system breakdowns and engages others in providing solutions. Utilizes critical thinking related to patient safety and experience. Manages complex situations and delegates to other staff appropriately. Escalates to the appropriate chain of command as needed. Positively influences the professional environment and shared governance. Engages in personal development and supports opportunities for continuous learning and growth. Participates in peer review and peer feedback opportunities. Maintains timely flow of patients and performs telephone triage for patients.
