Job Summary & Work Schedule

- Schedule: 5 days a week, 8.5 hours a day (includes a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks).

- Description: Employees process orders and move boxes of files, books, binders, backup tapes, and other materials. This is a highly physical role requiring manual lifting, carrying, and moving/arranging boxes while standing, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and twisting.

Requirements & Essential Functions

- Physical Demands: Walk, stand, kneel, squat, reach, stoop, and bend forward frequently for extended periods.

- Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing 10-100 lbs. on a regular basis for prolonged periods without assistance.

- Equipment Operation: Load, operate, and move hand trucks, hand carts, pallet jacks, and other material handling aids while walking on uneven and concrete surfaces. Load and shrink-wrap pallets at ground level or on carts. Load boxes onto pallets and load pallets onto trucks manually.

- Technical/Communication: Read and write English. Use a proprietary computer system to track orders and determine box locations. Operate hand-held scanners.

- Other: Climb and balance on ladders. Grip, lift, push, pull, and carry boxes up and down inclines, stairs, and over changes in walking surfaces/elevation without assistance.

- Footwear: Safety footwear must meet ASTM F2413-11 “Standard Specification for Performance Requirements for Protective (Safety) Toe Cap Footwear” and have a slip-resistant rating designated as “Better or Best.”
