Per Diem / PRN Radiology Technologist - $25-33 per hour

Overview Concentra is seeking a per diem / prn Radiology Technologist for a per diem / prn job in Tempe, Arizona. The Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist performs routine radiographic examinations in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures and applicable regulations under direct supervision of the treating clinician, and supports in other needed areas of the facility. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care while thriving in a fast‑paced environment. The RT MSS ensures that every patient is treated with quality clinical care and receives an excellent patient experience from welcoming, respectful, and skillful colleagues. Responsibilities Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escort to dressing and x‑ray rooms, provide instructions and assist positioning Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure care, safety and comfort during the x‑ray exam Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images Position equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to examination specifications Take x‑rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members Maintain radiologic equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping in current policy Report equipment malfunctions to Center Operations Director Ensure all Radiology workflows are followed and all reports cross correctly to EMR Complete required documentation related to patient x‑ray visit Perform DOT and Non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing Take vital signs and conduct ancillary testing (vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram, respirator fit testing) Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose) Assist providers during examination and treatment Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by treating clinician and triage emergent patients Assist clinician with procedure set up and injury care Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered Dispense medications and DME as ordered, following state regulations Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly or supplies are needed Assist with patient flow and volume; keep patients informed of expected wait times Perform front‑office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check‑in/out, communicate wait times, answer multi‑line telephone, distribute paperwork Follow HIPAA guidelines Attend center staff meetings or huddles Maintain neat, clean, orderly appearance throughout facility Complete applicable training including clinical competency training monthly Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, graduate of accredited radiologic technology school, and state certification Registered with ARRT with active, valid certification CPR / First Aid certification Minimum six months medical assistant experience with knowledge of procedures and terminology Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements preferred, plus prior medical office, healthcare or customer service experience Concentra core competencies: Service mentality, attention to detail, sense of urgency, initiative, flexibility Ability to make decisions or solve problems using logic and propose quality solutions Outstanding customer service skills with tact and professionalism Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information (HIPAA, PHI) Verbal and written communication skills Teamwork focus with peers and leadership; maintain working relationships at all levels Must participate in initial and ongoing training Obtain certifications required of Medical Support Specialists (drug screen collection, breath alcohol, hair and oral fluids collection) Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry Additional Data This job requires access to confidential and critical information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management.
