Hand Surgeon Position

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

We are excited to announce an immediate opening in our Surgery Department for a full-time hand surgeon who is passionate about both academics and trauma care. Our department supports Valleywise Health, a community hospital recognized as a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center by both the State and the American College of Surgeons, located in the metropolitan area of Phoenix.

We are looking for a hand surgeon who is eager to engage in resident education and become a vital part of our active hand practice. This practice places a strong focus on trauma cases and is backed by a dedicated general surgery trauma team. The selected surgeon will join the Department of Surgery, taking on responsibilities that include:

• Serving as a faculty member
• Assisting the Hand Section Chief in enhancing the clinical service line
• Providing traditional inpatient and outpatient services for elective, urgent, and emergency hand care
• Teaching and mentoring residents
• Participating in on-call coverage

Additionally, our department hosts a General Surgery and Surgical Podiatry Residency Program, offering supervision to residents rotating in plastic surgery.

The ideal candidate should be board certified or eligible and have completed the Certificate in Added Qualifications for Hand Surgery, or be certified/eligible in Surgery of the Hand. A collaborative approach to patient management is essential.

Our organization is a not-for-profit faculty practice plan, owned and operated by physicians, with over 400 providers across various medical and surgical specialties. We serve as the academic faculty practice for Creighton University (Phoenix) and are affiliated with Valleywise Health, the region's most comprehensive teaching hospital and medical center.
