Retail Store Associate

Furniture Mart in Houma, LA is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Store Associate to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic retail environment where you'll help customers find the perfect pieces to make their house a home. Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers on the sales floor, providing a welcoming and positive shopping experience
- Help customers select furniture and home furnishings that meet their needs, style, and budget
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Maintain showroom appearance by keeping displays clean, organized, and visually appealing
- Restock merchandise and assist with inventory management and receiving
- Assemble furniture for display
- Unload and receive shipments
- Load customer purchases
- Answer customer questions about product features, availability, and delivery options
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Previous retail sales, stockroom or customer service experience is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Basic math skills and comfort with POS or cash register systems
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
