Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) that specializes in neuro patients. This position is structured as a 3x12-hour shift from 19:00 to 07:30.

Certifications Required

• Active CA RN License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification

Work Schedule

The schedule includes every other weekend and additional shifts as needed based on unit requirements. RNs may also be required to take on-call shifts as necessary.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in an ICU setting
• Proficiency in neuro patient care

Additional Responsibilities

• Ability to float to other units within the scope of practice based on unit needs
• Flexibility to float to different campuses, with transportation provided when necessary

Special Skills & Qualifications

• Charge Nurse experience preferred
• Experience managing a patient ratio of 2:1
• Familiarity with Epic charting system is required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Ability to perform specific skills such as:
• Management of central lines and arterial lines
• Care for ventilated patients
• Understanding of stroke management and related neuro conditions
• Administration of emergency medications
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Work Environment

The ICU has a daily census of approximately 12 patients and consists of 30 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more.

Patient Demographics

The ICU serves adult and geriatric patients, providing care for various critical health conditions.

Orientation and Onboarding

Upon acceptance of the position, an orientation period of 12 hours will be provided. Compliance documents must be submitted 10 days prior to the start date.

Application and Compliance Requirements

• Valid California RN License
• Two references obtained within the last year
• Work history verification for the last 7 years
• Previous travel nursing experience is an advantage
