You will ensure they feel comfortable, safe and properly informed throughout the entire process, helping facilitate a welcoming and supportive experience. In this role, you have access to a unique avenue in which to enhance your skills using the latest technologies and leave a positive lasting impression on patients every day.A caregiver in this role will work 2:30pm - 11:00pm plus call.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure.Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.Verify and validate patient screening safety form.Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.Perform venipunctures and maintain competencies.Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exam.Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.Assist with scheduling of patients.Administer proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam.Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.Immediately report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service.Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.Process billing via RIS.Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.Learn new technical information and skills.Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.Potentially rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRTRegistered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) ( required within one year of hire)Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certificationKnowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processesPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:One year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalitiesPhysical Requirements:Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
