Associate Scientist

Associate Scientist – Titanium Technologies Ore Technology team, Chemours Discovery Hub, Newark, DE. In this role, you will improve existing TiO2 manufacturing processes and develop new processes and products. Responsibilities Perform assorted tasks in a chemistry lab, including safe handling of hazardous chemicals. Solid/liquid separations such as pressure filtration, flocculation, and settling. Heat treatments of materials in ovens. Titrations and manual or automatic pH and other electrode-based measurements. Assemble, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot lab‑scale process equipment for solids, liquids, and slurries experiments. Sample preparation and submission to various labs for further testing. Manage lab services and operations as required (equipment inspections, certifications, ordering supplies, inventory management). Data record‑keeping and organization in accordance with Chemours policies for protection of intellectual property. Required Qualifications BS/Associate degree in Chemistry, engineering, or related field. Hands‑on chemistry or R&D lab experience requiring the safe handling of chemicals. Proficiency in the use of computers, Microsoft applications, and related systems and data analysis. Preferred Qualifications Experience in safe handling of corrosive chemicals. Flexibility and demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a multitasking environment. Self‑motivation with a strong sense of ownership; ability to thrive in both independent and team‑oriented environments. Mechanical skills. Data interpretation and reporting.
