Role Overview

Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate scalable infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. The role requires strong expertise in Azure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, infrastructure security, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and automation .

The engineer will work closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to strengthen DevSecOps practices and ensure highly available, resilient, and secure production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure and DevOps security remediation , addressing vulnerabilities across cloud platforms, operating systems, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure .
• Identify and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities including misconfigurations, unpatched systems, insecure network exposure, and IAM risks .
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, and/or CloudFormation .
• Design, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions .
• Embed DevSecOps security controls into CI/CD pipelines, including SAST, DAST, container scanning, dependency scanning, and secrets detection .
• Deploy, manage, and harden containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes .
• Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), role-based access control, secrets management, and encryption mechanisms .
• Manage secrets securely using platforms such as Azure Key Vault and/or HashiCorp Vault .
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and security posture using tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor .
• Perform root cause analysis and incident response for infrastructure and production issues.
• Ensure appropriate high availability, scalability, resiliency, and disaster recovery readiness for critical systems.
• Automate operational and infrastructure activities using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python .
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to enable secure application deployment and runtime environments.
• Drive automation, standardization, and secure engineering practices across DevOps and infrastructure processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) .
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure ; AWS/GCP experience is an advantage.
• Strong experience with infrastructure security and vulnerability remediation , including patching, hardening, and compliance enforcement.
• Hands-on expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code; experience with ARM and/or CloudFormation is beneficial.
• Strong CI/CD and pipeline automation experience using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and/or GitHub Actions .
• Experience integrating security controls into pipelines, including SAST, DAST, container scanning, dependency scanning, and secrets detection .
• Deep understanding of Docker and Kubernetes .
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, firewalls, load balancing, and secure connectivity patterns .
• Experience with IAM, RBAC, secrets management, Azure Key Vault and/or HashiCorp Vault .
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python .
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor .
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and production support capabilities.
• Understanding of high availability, resiliency, scalability, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience within financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environments .
• Experience implementing enterprise DevSecOps practices.
• Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience with Kubernetes security and container-hardening practices.
• Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements for enterprise infrastructure.
