Description Postion: Events and Communications Assistant Location: Husky Hall, Bothell, WA Position Type: Student Employment Department: Advancement in the Office of Ceremonies and Events Compensation: $21.30/hr Schedule: This position is up to 19.5 hours per week with a flexible schedule. Up to 40 hours per week during breaks. Supervisor: Garick Sherburn, Assistant Director of Ceremonies and Events, View email address on click.appcast.io The Office of Ceremonies and Events is seeking a current UW student to service in the role of Events and Communications Assistant. The ideal applicant will possess knowledge of the digital medial landscape and pass for events and event planning. This position will manage a conisistent online presence across mulitple social media platforms and will be assisting in planning and staff events.

GENERAL DUTIES

Social Media/Marketing Create a clear, concise, and cohesive digital voice that is consistent across all media platforms. Manage social media platforms and creating posts that engage and excite our audience. Develop and manage social media content calendar. Assist in creating and distributing materials through print, electonic, and online media Event Operations Assist in planning and staffing events, including gathering supplies, creating nametage, posting signage, and helping set-up and take down events. Provide general administrative and office support for the events team as assigned by the Assistant Director. EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS: Participate in event planning and execution. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Current UW Bothell student; open to all majors and disciplines. Enrolled in 6 or more undergraduate credits (or 5 graduate credits) for the quarter. Contribute professionally and respectfully to our diverse and inclusive work environment. Social media experience and an elevated level of familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, photo, and video trends, etc. Understanding of content best practices, marketing, the user journey, and storytelling. Possess a strong work ethic with a demonstrated passion for creating compelling and innovative content. Experience in graphic design, Canva, and an eye for design. Ability to work independently and cooperatively. Strong customer service, written, and interpersonal skills. ELIGIBILITY Work study is preferred.
