Assures that any other safety issues are complied with that relate to the specific job being accomplished (Example: special staging, face shields for grinding, protective clothing for hot work-related jobs, breathing apparatus with correct cartridges, etc.). Assures that you are trained or qualified for the work you are assigned to do (Example: JLG, forklift, welding, brazing, special electrical/mechanical repairs, etc.). Assures that personnel are working as safely and as productively as possible always maintaining quality control. Assures that a 30-minute cool down period has been accomplished in hot work areas. Assures that the job site is left in a safe and clean condition prior to departure. Complete repairs or installation(s) as assigned with no supervision.Requirements: 4+ years directly related experience in a Shipyard Environment Able to read and use tech manuals and blueprints and specification items. Able to use and understand precision measuring instruments. Climb on and around ships and walk to other yard areas and requires extended periods of standing and walking (75%). Inspections and work may require climbing ladders, working at heights, walking on scaffolding and observing co-workers using tools and equipment. Lifting/carrying tools and parts weighing up to 50 lbs. on frequent basis. Standing, bending, sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, crouching, kneeling, handling, finger dexterity, feeling, eye/hand/foot coordination, seeing, hearing required. Selecting appropriate tools for jobs, as per trade classification. Works in tight, confined workspaces on board ship and is exposed to varied temperatures, wind, wet and humid conditions, fumes, odors and dust, vibrations from ship and hand tools. Operate grinder (fixed and portable) Operate drill presses (fixed and portable) Fixed presses, porta powers, and hydraulic jacks Torches and torque wrenches Assorted sizes of combination wrenches Socket sets, slip joint pliers, adjustable wrenches, and wire pliers Hammers-ball pean, flat head, small mall, and screw drivers (flat and phillips) Vise grips, 6" scale- 12' tape measure, and snap ring pliers Micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers Pipe wrench, punch set, and chisels Other tools as identified and determined as needed Shafting repairs and alignment, fixed and controllable pitch Propellers removed and installed Rudders repair and installedAbout CTR Group: CTR Group operates in the staffing and recruitment industry, Nationwide for over 35 years.
