A Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluating care objectives. What you will do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team, and coordinating with other healthcare providers. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and social factors; conferring with family; establishing nursing diagnosis and objectives; defining interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals, instructing patient, family, and friends on medications and self‑care skills, answering questions, and providing information and resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring outcomes against standards, reviewing records, noting changes, and re‑evaluating care objectives. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication administration procedures, controlled substance regulations, organizational standards, and legal regulations; alerting others to potential concerns. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep patient care equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing active license in the state of practice. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
