Sterile Processing Manager

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM How You’ll Make an Impact Oversee daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department and guide the team in best practices. Drive training efforts, support ongoing staff development, and ensure policies and standards are maintained. Interview, hire, and mentor team members to meet departmental goals and service expectations. Assist technicians in instrument processing when needed, modeling expertise and hands‑on leadership. Build Strong Partnerships Communicate regularly with hospital stakeholders and internal leadership at all levels. Review and present performance metrics, KPIs, and quality outcomes to customer teams. Establish collaborative relationships that support continuous improvement and enhance service delivery. Create Process Excellence Ensure full compliance with industry standards, internal protocols, and regulatory requirements. Work closely with process improvement teams to implement Lean practices and operational enhancements. Promote efficiency, quality, and consistency across all instrument reprocessing activities. Experience Required 6+ years of relevant experience , including at least 1 year in an SPD supervisory or leadership role . Strong understanding of sterile processing workflows, OR support, and instrument management. Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with instrument tracking and workforce management systems. Ability to quickly learn new software as needed. Certifications Active CBSPD or IAHCSMM sterile processing certification required (or must be obtained within 12 months of hire). Leadership/management certification in SPD preferred. Valid driver’s license and insurance if the role involves travel between sites. Skills Deep knowledge of sterilization equipment, medical instruments, and healthcare logistics. Ability to develop and deliver presentations, and teach certification-level content when needed. Strong communication skills and comfort working with senior clinical and administrative leaders. Capability to manage operations across multiple sites and adapt to a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
