What You'll Do

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the PCU, including those with AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, post-heart catheterization, stroke, and spinal surgeries
• Monitor patient conditions, administer titratable IV medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin (subject to manager approval)
• Manage procedures like chest tubes, trach care, and lumbar drains when required
• Support patient recovery through accurate charting and coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain compliance with EKG competency and other unit protocols
• Work collaboratively with charge nurses, RT, hospitalists, and ancillary staff
• Respond efficiently to emergencies and provide patient education as needed

What You Need

• Required:
  • Valid RN license in Louisiana or applicable state
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • NIH Stroke Certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
  • Ability to support titratable medication management and complex patient care
• Preferred:
  • Experience with chest tube management, tracheostomy, dialysis, and lumbar drains
  • Competency exam pass in EKG interpretation
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
