Application Deadline:July 26, 2026Salary Range:Min $85,773.00 - Mid $106,358.50 - Max $126,944.00To view all salary ranges for the City of Peoria, please click here.Department:Development and EngineeringMinimum Requirements:Education:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, related field, or equivalent.Experience:Minimum of three years’ professional engineering experience or in a related field.Requires a working knowledge of Civil Engineering principles, specialized practices, equipment and procedures.Licenses and Certifications:Registered Professional Engineer required upon hire with preference to Arizona registration.Valid AZ Driver’s License upon hire.Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:Experience with municipal plan review and permit process.Experience with interpreting and applying local, state and federal standards/codes for preparation and review of engineering documents and reports.Experience and working knowledge of the land development process, including entitlement, permitting and construction phase.Drainage and Floodplain design experience.Tell Me More…..The City of Peoria has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join their Site Development Division within the Development and Engineering Department. This position will perform engineering reviews of development projects including, but not limited to, residential subdivisions, multi-family developments, commercial, industrial and capital improvement projects. Other duties may include completing related engineering tasks as assigned.Key Responsibilities:Perform engineering reviews of development projects to ensure compliance with code and design standards.Complete development engineering reviews including, but not limited to: Grading and Drainage Plans, Water and Sewer Plans, Paving Plans, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Signing and Striping Plans, Streetlight Plans, Landscaping Plans, Streetlight and Maintenance Improvement Districts (MID & SLID), Preliminary and Final Plats, Drainage Reports, Water and Sewer Reports, and/or Soils Reports.Coordinate with both internal and external customers to review and process development projects from planning to permitting and the inspection stage.Attend meetings and clearly communicate engineering requirements to developers, engineers, planners, architects, city officials and the public.To view the full job description, work environment and physical demands, click here.Why Peoria?Recently voted the #1 place, to live, work and play, Peoria is a community you can be proud to work for.
