Applied AI/ML Modeling Vice President - Consumer Bank

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Masters or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, machine learning, econometrics, operations research, applied mathematics, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience developing and deploying production AI/ML models, including statistical modeling and modern machine learning.
• Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with machine learning or deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, and libraries such as NumPy, Scikit-learn, and Pandas; familiarity with notebooks and cloud-based development and compute.
• Deep expertise in at least one area—such as recommendation or decisioning systems, ranking, constrained optimization, causal inference and uplift modeling, online learning, or behavioral modeling—and meaningful exposure to another.
• Ability to explain complex modeling concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and help them make informed decisions.
• Preferred: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
• Preferred: Experience building advanced AI/ML models in consumer finance, fintech, retail, marketplaces, or other high-scale customer engagement settings.
• Preferred: Experience with decisioning or online-learning libraries, large-scale ranking or recommendation tools, causal inference tools, or experimentation platforms.
• Preferred: Familiarity with behavioral science and designing effective, compliant interventions.
• Preferred: Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms, and practical MLOps skills including deployment, monitoring, drift detection, retraining, and reproducibility.

• Develop and launch AI/ML models addressing complex Consumer Banking challenges, particularly sales effectiveness and banker enablement, using approaches such as deep learning, causal inference, contextual bandits, reinforcement learning, and constrained optimization.
• Lead modeling projects from initial scoping through delivery: define use cases and success measures with business partners, create project plans, and use large, complex datasets to develop testable hypotheses.
• Turn model results into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical partners and explain the rationale, timing, recommended action, and expected outcome to encourage adoption.
• Work with governance, risk, and controls teams on model reviews; document model purpose and limitations, monitor performance and drift, and follow regulatory and model risk management standards.
