Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to obstetric patients in L&D and postpartum units during night shifts
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications, assist with deliveries per clinical protocols
• Collaborate with obstetric, neonatal, anesthesia, and nursing teams; support newborn care in postpartum as needed
• Document assessments, care plans, and progress in the electronic health record; ensure accurate, timely notes
• Respond to obstetric emergencies; implement safety, infection control, and patient safety standards
• Support lactation education and family-centered care; educate mothers and families on newborn care, safety, and discharge planning

Requirements

• Active California RN license (or eligibility) required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; eligible for California RN licensure
• Experience: L&D or postpartum care experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts (1900–0730) and rotate as needed
