About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – NICU

Location

Oxnard, CA | NICU – Level 3b

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Holidays rotated with permanent staff

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Level 3b NICU, caring for patients across all gestational ages including premature infants, sepsis, therapeutic cooling, and substance abuse/withdrawal cases
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or up to 1:3 for feeder/grower patients
• Operate and monitor ventilatory support equipment including Aveya ventilators, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, and oscillators, as well as Phillips monitoring systems
• Administer and manage IV drips as indicated by patient acuity
• Float as needed to Labor & Delivery or Postpartum units to care for newborns
• Attend deliveries as needed; collaborate with on-call Neonatology, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, and 24/7 Pharmacy teams

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 2–3 years of NICU experience at a Level 3 or higher facility
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Ability to work every other weekend and rotate holidays with permanent staff

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience
• Experience attending deliveries
• Experience with therapeutic cooling protocols
• Spanish-speaking ability preferred given patient population served
