The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking a skilled and driven neurosurgeon to join the Neurotrauma Division as a full-time faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Clinical Professor level. This position is primarily based at Highland Hospital, a high-volume Level 1 trauma center in Oakland, with additional academic and research opportunities at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG).
This role offers a unique combination of high-acuity trauma care, academic engagement, and structured time for research and elective practice within one of the nation s leading neurosurgery programs.

What We re Looking For:
- Neurosurgeon with expertise in neurotrauma, TBI, SCI, and spine trauma
- Ability to independently manage high-acuity trauma cases without resident support
- Strong clinical judgment and procedural proficiency in both spinal and cranial trauma
- Interest in academic medicine, research, and mentorship
- Experience or training in high-volume trauma centers preferred

Requirements:
- MD or equivalent degree
- California medical license or eligibility for licensure at time of hire
- Completion of neurosurgery residency and fellowship training (spine and/or trauma focus)
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurosurgery (ABNS or equivalent)
- Demonstrated expertise in spine trauma and cranial trauma neurosurgery

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 . The minimum base salary range for this position is $154,700 - $405,900. The total negotiated salary for this position will include another component at the time of hire. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
