Environmental Services Supervisor

Responsibilities Include: Prepares staff schedules and determines daily work assignments Supervises the work of housekeeping and laundry staff Monitors attendance Inspects the work of subordinate staff using a hand held computer to ensure compliance with standards and provides feedback regarding quality of work Plans and coordinates the project work schedule Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions Completes employee performance appraisals Investigates and resolves client complaints or concerns Identifies areas for improvement within the department Researches alternatives and makes recommendations to the Environmental Services Manager Requisitions and issues supplies and equipment Keeps an inventory of equipment and supplies on hand Reports maintenance and repairs Assists with special reports Plans for, develops and conducts in-service programs Maintains accurate records Interacts with residents Requirements include the following experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Four (4) years of housekeeping, laundry or custodial experience in a large commercial or institutional environment Two (2) years of supervisory experience Must possess and maintain in good standing, a valid Illinois driver's license A post-offer physical is required A pre-employment background check is required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
