Summary The Financial Analyst I provides entry‑level support to the Finance team under close supervision from senior staff. The role assists with basic financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting activities, gaining exposure to financial planning and analysis processes. This hybrid position requires in‑office presence 2‑3 days a week in Herndon, VA. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions Assist with preparing standard financial reports and supporting schedules under supervision. Help gather and organize data for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Prepare basic monthly reports and assist with monitoring key metrics. Support the finance team in ad hoc analysis, data validation, and project tasks. Maintain organized financial records and documentation. Maintain and update financial models and dashboards. Learn and apply company policies, procedures, and financial systems such as Deltek Costpoint and Excel. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather financial inputs and ensure data accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned to support the Finance team. Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge Basic knowledge of financial principles and data analysis. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and effective problem‑solving skills. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with co‑workers and with outside agencies, partners, shareholders, and business associates. Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, with ability to adapt messages and strategies for diverse audiences. Basic understanding of relevant software, tools, and systems used in the corporate environment, including Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and strong Excel knowledge. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 1–2 years of related experience (internship or entry‑level finance/accounting role preferred). Must pass a background and credit check. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience or exposure to Deltek Costpoint. Previous experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs). Previous government contracting experience. Pay and Benefits The salary range for this position is $60,000 – $75,000 annually.
