Materials Manager

MATERIALS MANAGER

The Materials Manager is responsible for leading the materials function to ensure the right inventory is in the right place at the right time. This role aligns procurement, inventory, warehousing, and production needs to support customer delivery and company growth. The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution in a custom manufacturing environment..

In this role you will get to:

• Own end-to-end materials strategy in partnership with sourcing, including inventory, warehousing, and material flow.
• Ensure consistent material availability to support production without shortages or excess inventory.
• Optimize inventory levels, space utilization, and material handling processes.
• Lead, coach, and develop materials teams including supervisor, coordinators, and material handlers.
• Track and manage key performance metrics such as inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, and supplier performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean practices, waste reduction, and process standardization.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, planning, engineering, and procurement.
• Oversee ERP system accuracy and material transactions (Epicor preferred).
• Promote a safety-first culture.
• Demonstrate integrity and accountability.
• Maintain strong customer focus and responsiveness.
• Act with urgency while exercising sound judgment.
• Foster teamwork and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience in materials or supply chain within manufacturing.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams in a multi-shift environment.
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
• Strong understanding of inventory control, planning, and Lean principles.

Compensation:
$120,000 per year
