Full-Time Nurse Practitioner - Pain Management Specialist

The Winter Haven Pain Management Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Silver Spring, Maryland. This full-time position focuses on delivering comprehensive pain management care to a diverse patient population. As a Nurse Practitioner specializing in pain management, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients suffering from chronic pain to improve their quality of life.

Work Environment

Located in the vibrant community of Silver Spring, MD, our facility operates under a unique concierge medicine model, where we focus on house calls and personalized attention to each patient. The work setting is primarily onsite, allowing you to engage directly with patients in a comfortable atmosphere, delivering high-quality care without the constraints of a traditional clinical environment. Your schedule will consist of four ten-hour shifts, leaving your weekends free for personal time.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including obtaining detailed medical histories and performing physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Administer therapeutic interventions, including trigger point injections and joint injections, with or without ultrasound guidance.
• Monitor patient progress and response to treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to achieve the best outcomes.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and self-management strategies.
• Coordinate care by making appropriate referrals to specialists and ensuring smooth transitions in patient management.
• Maintain meticulous and up-to-date patient records in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA regulations.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with medical assistants, lab technicians, and fellow healthcare providers to deliver exceptional care.
• Participate in monthly reviews of prescription monitoring reports and radiology/lab findings to further refine patient management plans and safety protocols.
• Remain on-call during designated hours to address urgent patient needs and inquiries outside regular clinic hours.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients experiencing various forms of chronic pain and musculoskeletal disorders. These may include post-surgical pain, neuropathic pain, and conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and back pain. You will be instrumental in providing high-touch, individualized care tailored to each patient's unique circumstances and treatment goals.

Qualifications

• Board-certified as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
• A Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner Studies is preferred.
• A valid and unrestricted DEA license.
• CERTIFICATION in Basic Life Support (BCLS).
• Strong computer skills and experience with EMR software.
• A friendly disposition with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of experience in pain management is preferred.
• Bilingual abilities, particularly in English and Spanish, are a plus, enhancing communication with our diverse patient base.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to 165,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
