Summary You will instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. After each 30‑minute lesson, you communicate progress (and celebrate accomplishments) with parents and caregivers. Responsibilities Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum and educate students on water safety. Evaluate students’ progress and complete required paperwork in a timely manner. Interact with parents and guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills. Use problem‑solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter. Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment; place and remove lane lines and class materials before and after lessons. Perform lifeguard functions and/or light cleaning duties as needed. Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in‑service training outside of regular working hours. Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your employer. Requirements / Work Environment Ability to swim; will complete an in‑house lifeguard certification program and pass a basic swim test (50 yards). Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool for lifting, standing for extended periods, demonstrating curriculum skills, and performing in‑water rescues if necessary. The position is in‑water, 4‑hour shift times, and the environment may be difficult for individuals with certain medical conditions or sensitive skin. Schedule Position is part‑time; ages 16 and up, and others interested in an exciting part‑time position. Schedule based on availability and set lesson times: 9:00 – 1:00 and 4:00 – 8:00 Monday through Friday. 9:00 – 3:00 Saturday and Sunday. Same days each week; arrive 15 minutes before lessons for pre‑shift meeting. Not required to stay late after lessons end. Benefits Competitive wage of $17–$19 per hour and paid training.
