Of Virginia-CastleUVA Dine is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Food Service Workers to join our team at the Za'atar at The Castle location on the University of Virginia grounds. As a Food Service Worker, you will play a key role in preparing and serving delicious Mediterranean-inspired food items, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and inviting store environment.Start Date: August 1, 2025Location: University of Virginia - Za'atar at The Castle - 10 Bonney Castle Drive, Charlottesville, VAHourly Pay Rate: $16Benefits:Aramark offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceRetirement planPaid time offJob Responsibilities:Prepare and serve a variety of food items such as wraps, bowls, salads, and other menu offerings according to Za'atar recipes and standards.Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle cash, credit card transactions, and maintain accurate cash drawers.Provide friendly, efficient, and personalized customer service, taking orders and responding to inquiries.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including food preparation areas, serving lines, condiment stations, and dining areas.Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients.Stock and restock food items, ingredients, supplies, and other service areas as needed.Assist with inventory counts and report supply needs to the supervisor.Adhere to all Za'atar brand standards, policies, and procedures.Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient operations during peak hours.Qualifications:Ability to read, write, and understand basic instructions.Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.Strong communication and customer service skills.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Prior experience in food service or customer service is preferred, but not always required.Additional Skills and Abilities:Positive attitude and strong work ethic.Ability to follow directions and procedures.Attention to detail and cleanliness.Ability to work under pressure.Reliability and punctuality.Physical Demands:Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (e.g., 8+ hours).Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which may include exposure to cool/refrigerated areas, heat from cooking equipment, and noise.Manual dexterity for preparing food items and handling ingredients.Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed.About Aramark:Rooted in service and united by our purpose, we strive to do great things for each other, our partners, our communities, and our planet.At Aramark, we believe that every employee should enjoy equal employment opportunity and be free to participate in all aspects of the company.
