Shipping Supervisor

Job Summary We are seeking a Shipping Supervisor to lead the activities of production workers in a business unit, focusing on continuous improvement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Key Responsibilities Enforce safety regulations and eliminate safety hazards. Maintain knowledge of manufacturing processes. Coordinate with other BU Supervisors to plan operations and establish work schedules. Determine daily schedules and manpower requirements to meet shipping and internal material handling targets. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment to maximize uptime. Ensure standardized processes are followed to achieve high quality. Manage schedules and resources to meet seasonal volume needs. Observe, train, and coach employees to comply with safety procedures and performance standards. Establish and maintain lean metrics and report results to management. Plan, lead, and execute Kaizen & 3P events throughout the business unit. Initiate HR actions for hiring, training, discipline, and termination of shop floor associates. Support lean culture, drive continuous improvement, and lead projects across locations. Manage powered industrial trucks, cranes, and other major equipment, including lease management and employee training. Coordinate with Inside Sales, Production, and Logistics departments and maintain relationships with contracted carriers. Benefits Fulfilling career with an industry leader. Establish and maintain current state standard of work; identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities. Implementation and sustainment of SQDC programs. Maintain “Management for Daily Improvement” SQDC Tracking Boards. Execute SQDC continuous improvement opportunities. Conduct timely and informative Shop Floor Associate performance reviews. Complete other reasonably related duties as assigned. Qualifications Leadership experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse environment, or comparable training/education; Bachelor’s degree a plus. Computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn ERP/MRP software. Ability to operate fork trucks and work assist vehicles. Experience in a manufacturing environment with a lean operating system a plus. Knowledge of Sarbanes‑Oxley and other shipping regulations.
