Armed Security Officer

Pay: $30.00 per hour
Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday | 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a professional and dependable Armed Security Officer to provide daytime security coverage in Kansas City. This position requires an officer who can maintain a steady presence, stay attentive to activity throughout the shift, and interact professionally with customers, employees, and other authorized individuals.

The officer will help protect people and property through careful observation, security awareness, and consistent application of established procedures. Customer service is also an important part of the assignment, requiring a calm and approachable manner during routine interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Security & Loss Prevention

• Maintain an armed security presence throughout assigned areas.
• Observe customer and employee activity for unusual behavior or potential security concerns.
• Help deter theft through visibility, attentiveness, and professional conduct.
• Remain alert throughout the shift while monitoring activity in designated areas.
• Identify and communicate potential security, safety, or property concerns.
• Support established loss-prevention and safety practices.

Customer Service

• Greet customers and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provide basic assistance or directions when appropriate.
• Maintain respectful communication with customers, employees, and authorized personnel.
• Balance customer service responsibilities with assigned security duties.
• Represent Citadel Security USA professionally at all times.

Procedures & Incident Response

• Follow company policies, assignment instructions, and established security procedures.
• Respond appropriately to security concerns and incidents within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
• Notify appropriate personnel when additional assistance is required.
• Maintain composure and sound judgment during unexpected situations.
• Cooperate with store leadership and designated contacts regarding security matters.

Documentation & Communication

• Document incidents, unusual activity, and security concerns accurately.
• Communicate relevant information to supervisors and designated store leadership.
• Complete required reports in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain discretion when handling security-related information.

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older .
• Active KCMO Armed Security License (Guard Card) required.
• Personal firearm suitable for assigned armed security duties.
• Must be legally eligible to possess and carry a firearm under applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Must meet all applicable requirements for armed security work in Kansas City, Missouri.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and conduct.
• Ability to remain attentive and composed throughout the assigned shift.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Experience

• Previous retail security experience.
• Experience working in jewelry store security or other customer-facing security assignments.
• Background in loss prevention or asset protection.
• Previous armed security experience.
• Experience working directly with customers and store personnel in a professional setting.
