Survey Crew Chief Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM Duration: 12-month contract-to-hire Perks: Company vehicle provided Overview We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to support a large highway design project. This is a hands-on, outdoor role for a dependable professional who can lead survey operations safely and efficiently while collaborating with office and field teams. Responsibilities Coordinate daily with field coordinators, project managers, and office staff Supervise survey crew members and ensure quality data collection Perform daily data uploads/downloads and maintain survey equipment Assist with field work as needed, including equipment transport and site preparation Follow all safety regulations and company policies Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives involving evolving survey technology Required Experience & Skills Minimum of 3 years of onsite survey experience required Experience using robotic total stations and GPS equipment (SHA experience preferred but not required) Proficiency with Trimble or similar survey equipment, including GPS, robotics, total stations, levels, and data collectors Ability to work independently while also leading a crew Strong safety mindset and reliability in all weather conditions Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD preferred but not required MicroStation experience is a plus Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WINDSOR MILL, MD. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
