Water Resources EngineerDuration: 12 MonthsWork Location and Schedule:The position is part of a team that works remotely beyond regular business hours and during weekends to support real-time systems.The position will be hybrid, combining both office-based and remote work. (40 hours a week at 3 days in-office, 2 days remote, 1-2 weekends a month)Job Description:The position will fill a water resources engineer in the client hydro organization.Client owns and operates hydro generating plants across several watersheds. Reservoir management is responsible for the implementation of the overall water control plan of these watersheds which includes operational forecasting, flood control, and drought management.Reservoir operations uses software systems and data from many sources to implement the water control plan: hydrologic equipment and instrumentation, weather forecasts, and historical operational information.A remote network of real-time instrumentation is also maintained by reservoir management personnel and contractors including rain, stage and temperature sensors. Reservoir management also provides watershed modeling using river analysis software.To facilitate these functions, computer systems and a software suite referred to as HOMS (Hydro Optimization Management System) are also operated and maintained by reservoir management.
