About You
You’ll likely be an established PMO, programme, or project delivery professional who enjoys bringing structure to busy environments but also wants the opportunity to influence how things are done.
You’ll be comfortable working with project managers, technical teams, workstream leads, and senior stakeholders, and confident enough to ask questions, challenge constructively, and ensure actions, risks, and dependencies are properly followed through.
You’ll understand that different teams may use different delivery methodologies and will be comfortable working alongside Agile teams , helping connect their delivery activity into the wider programme and portfolio view without imposing unnecessary process.
You’ll also be pragmatic. We want consistent governance and good project controls, but not unnecessary bureaucracy.
You won’t be expected to arrive and build a PMO completely from scratch. Instead, we want someone who can operate the framework effectively, identify where it could work better, and bring relevant ideas and experience from other environments.
About The Role
We’re looking for an experienced PMO & Delivery Analyst to play a key role in improving how projects are governed, reported, and delivered across the organisation.
We are currently introducing a more consistent project framework across the business, covering areas such as governance, reporting, RAID management, resource forecasting, and portfolio visibility.
The framework itself will be in place, but it will still be relatively new. We therefore want someone who can take ownership of running it day-to-day, help embed it across project teams, and bring ideas on how it can be improved as our delivery capability matures.
We are consolidating smaller workstreams and project activities into larger programmes, applying a consistent approach to governance, reporting, and project controls.
Our delivery environment includes teams and projects working in different ways, including Agile delivery . An important part of the role will be ensuring Agile-delivered projects are effectively coordinated into wider programme governance, reporting, dependencies, and portfolio oversight.
This role is approximately 70% PMO and portfolio activity and 30% project delivery , making it well-suited to an established PMO professional who wants greater ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to develop further delivery experience.
We’re more interested in the relevance and quality of your experience than prescribing a specific number of years.
You should have experience working within a PMO, programme delivery function, portfolio environment, project controls function, or closely related project delivery role.
You should have practical experience supporting or operating project governance and controls, rather than solely providing administrative project support.
You should also have experience or a good working familiarity with Agile ways of working, understanding how Agile-delivered projects can be coordinated within wider programme governance, reporting, and portfolio controls.
Previous experience improving an existing PMO framework, standardizing project processes, or taking ownership of smaller projects would be particularly relevant.
What You'll Be Doing
Working closely with the Technical Programme Director and stakeholders across the organisation, you will:
- Operate and help embed our project and programme governance framework.
- Support oversight of an evolving portfolio as we consolidate multiple workstreams into larger programmes.
- Work with project and workstream leads to ensure plans, milestones, dependencies, and actions are maintained.
- Work with Agile delivery teams to ensure their projects, milestones, risks, and dependencies are reflected within wider programme governance and portfolio reporting.
- Own and facilitate consistent RAID management across the portfolio.
- Produce clear and useful project and portfolio reporting for sponsors and senior stakeholders.
- Provide a consolidated view of project health, priorities, risks, and delivery progress.
- Support resource and capacity forecasting across projects and workstreams.
- Review existing processes, templates, and project artefacts and recommend practical improvements.
- Help move towards a consistent approach to project and portfolio tooling.
- Work across platforms including Jira, Monday.com, spreadsheets, and Microsoft 365 .
- Work collaboratively with project teams to provide structure without introducing unnecessary process.
- Take ownership of elements of direct project delivery and smaller projects.
- Bring ideas and external experience to help our programme delivery capability evolve.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is about creating greater visibility, consistency, and confidence across our project portfolio.
Over time, we would expect you to help us:
- Establish a reliable and consistent view of our key projects.
- Embed clear governance and project controls across the organisation.
- Improve the quality and consistency of reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure risks, issues, actions, and dependencies are actively managed.
- Develop a clearer view of resource demand and capacity.
- Help project and workstream leads adopt consistent ways of working while accommodating Agile.
- Ensure Agile-delivered projects are effectively represented within wider programme governance and portfolio reporting.
- Identify where the framework, processes, or tooling could be improved.
- Take increasing ownership of project delivery alongside your PMO responsibilities.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to join at a point where you can genuinely influence how our PMO and programme delivery capability develops. You’ll have visibility across a broad range of projects, work with stakeholders across the organisation, and combine portfolio-level oversight with hands-on delivery experience.
There is also genuine scope for the role to develop as the business grows, potentially progressing towards Project or Programme Management or a future PMO Lead / Head of PMO position.
Requirements
- A strong understanding of project governance and project controls.
- Experience of RAID management and project reporting.
- Experience working across multiple projects or workstreams.
- A good understanding of Agile ways of working and how Agile delivery interacts with programme and portfolio governance.
- The ability to consolidate information and turn it into clear, meaningful management reporting.
- An understanding of resource planning, capacity forecasting, or workforce planning within a project environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- The ability to challenge constructively and follow through on actions.
- A pragmatic approach, able to introduce structure without unnecessary bureaucracy.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership in a predominantly remote environment.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Jira, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet or similar project and portfolio tools.
- Experience working alongside software or technology teams using Agile delivery practices.
- Experience within a technology, software, infrastructure, or technical delivery environment.
- Experience helping to improve or mature a PMO or portfolio-management function.
- Previous hands-on project delivery experience.
- Experience producing reporting for senior leadership or executive stakeholders.
- Exposure to resource and capacity modelling.
- A recognized project management or PMO qualification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMI, or P3O.
Formal qualifications are not essential. Relevant practical experience and your ability to operate effectively in the role are more important.
