Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVOR Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Information Location: Wichita, KS Unit Overview: The unit consists of 2 heart rooms, with a possibility for a 3rd. The team includes a total of 4 Registered Nurses (RNs) and 3 Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs). Patient Ratios: 1:1 Type of Staff: Day Shift - 1 CVOR RN and 1 CVOR CST Night Shift - On call only, no scheduled night shifts Type of Equipment: EMR - Meditech / CPN Responsibilities The CVOR Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care in the cardiovascular operating room, performing procedures including but not limited to: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR) Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR) Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Qualifications Required: Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care CVOR RN hospital experience Current certifications in BLS and ACLS Active RN licensure in Kansas Preferred: Certification in PALS Experience with open heart and cardiovascular procedures Familiarity with Meditech EMR Personality Fit Applicants should possess the following characteristics: Confidence and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team A positive attitude with a focus on patient experience Strong communication skills with both staff and providers Additional Information The unit is in the process of restarting its ECMO program, presenting an exciting opportunity for nurses to be part of innovative patient care.
