Senior Backend/Infrastructure Software EngineerWe are searching for a Senior Backend/Infrastructure Software Engineer to help us develop AI-based autonomous industrial robotic solutions and integrate them with our customers' complex software management environments. As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy the critical infrastructure needed to support a range of industrial automation applications. In this role, you will partner with the Machine Learning and Robot Control Software teams to craft an efficient software platform and data pipeline that supports our core backend systems.At OSARO we develop solutions to endow industrial robots with the level of autonomy needed to perform an unprecedented variety of complex pick and place tasks leveraging sophisticated robot control and neural network-based perception algorithms. You should be willing to move to the SF Bay Area.What You'll Be DoingContributing to a variety of projects from diagnosing network bottlenecks to building OSARO's cloud model training and data pipeline infrastructureBuilding backend systems to manage and support our growing fleet of autonomous robotsBuilding and managing compute clusters for training our machine learning modelsDeveloping and maintaining the backend for internal and customer-facing servicesSupporting and collaborating closely with other teams across the organization to diagnose and fix issues as they ariseExperience and Skills You'll NeedBS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field with equivalent experience and 3-10 years of experienceKnowledge of distributed and micro-service systemsExperience using REST APIsExperience programming in Python, Go, or RustStrong familiarity with Linux and shell scripting/toolingExperience with Docker and deploying Kube clustersExperience with deploying services on GCP or other cloudsGood knowledge of databases and experience with building and managing data processing pipelines at scaleKnowledge of fundamental networking concepts and ability to debug and diagnose network issues, deploy VPNs, proxies and tunnelsBonus if You HaveDirect experience working with industrial robotics applications.A track record of building and delivering distributed systems.Experience with Terraform.Experience working with large data sources and data pipelines.Experience with machine learning frameworks and/or orchestration tools.Technology We UseDocker, Kubernetes, HelmBigQuery, CloudSpanner, PostgreSQL, DataflowDataflow, PubSubTerraform, Ansible, SaltStackTensorflow, PyTorchgRPC/protobufRust, Python, C/C++$155,000 - $190,000 a year Actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, and experience.
