Job Diva ID: 26-19690 Pay Range: $85 - $90/hour.Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement scalable backend systems using Python, with a focus on microservices and API-driven architectureBuild and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services for data ingestion, processing, and integrationDevelop data processing pipelines to handle structured and unstructured dataCollaborate with global Technology teams across multiple time zones in a hybrid environmentApply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and backend engineering best practicesDrive resolution of complex technical challenges through analysis of system flows and business processesEnsure solutions align with enterprise architecture, performance, and scalability requirementsEstablish and follow standards for coding, testing, debugging, and deployment in backend environmentsPerform data extraction, transformation, and analysis to support business use casesImplement unit testing and TDD to ensure reliability and maintainability of backend servicesContribute to microservices ecosystem, including service integration and inter-service communicationSupport the integration of LLMs and GenAI capabilities into backend systems and workflowsMentor junior developers and promote strong engineering and coding standardsIdentify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standardsKey Requirements and Technology Experience:Must have skills: - Senior Python backend + microservices + REST APIs Strong differentiator: AI tool experience (Copilot or similar) Process maturity: TDD, CI/CD, JIRA workflowNice to have: Splunk, monitoring, data pipeline experienceDomain: Risk/data-heavy environment (FS optional)Karat: Software Engineer - Python - SeniorBachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field5–7 years of experience developing backend systems and services using PythonStrong proficiency in Python and related libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas)Experience building REST APIs and working in microservices or service-oriented architecturesExperience with data processing, ETL pipelines, or data engineering conceptsFamiliarity with LLMs and GenAI technologiesUnderstanding of distributed systems and backend integration patternsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a global teamExperience with distributed data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive)Knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL or other relational databases)Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift)Background in financial services, banking, or risk environmentsExperience with AI developer tools such as CopilotOur client is a leading Financial Industry, and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
