As a Lube and Tire Technician, you'll support the store by performing essential vehicle maintenance services, completing inspections, helping keep the shop clean and organized, and learning the foundational skills needed to grow in the automotive industry.This entry-level role is a great fit for someone who's mechanically inclined, dependable, and eager to learn. You'll handle oil changes, tire services, basic maintenance, and Digital Vehicle Inspections while learning from experienced technicians, service advisors, and store leaders—and building a strong foundation for a long-term automotive career.What We OfferCompetitive hourly payPaid training and hands-on developmentMedical, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time offEmployee discountsCareer advancement opportunities, including growth toward Junior Automotive Technician, Automotive Technician, Senior Automotive Technician, Lead Automotive Technician, Service Associate, and other field rolesWhat You'll DoPerform tire services, including mounting, dismounting, balancing, and rotations.Perform oil changes and basic maintenance, including fluids, wipers, bulbs, batteries, and air and cabin filters.Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections and repair order documentation accurately and thoroughly.Identify safety-related issues and communicate findings through the proper store channels.Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections, where applicable, in an ethical manner and in line with all company and state guidelines under appropriate supervision.Keep customer vehicles, the shop, service area, showroom, restrooms, and outside areas clean and customer-ready.Transport customers and pick up parts, tires, and supplies using company or customer vehicles as directed.Follow all safety procedures, use required PPE, comply with environmental and hazardous waste requirements, and report hazards or unsafe equipment to your supervisor.Work collaboratively with technicians and service advisors, accept coaching, and participate in ongoing training and development.Work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed, and complete other duties as assigned.Adhere to Sun Auto's core values and all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.What We're Looking ForRequired:The right candidate is reliable, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and ready to build foundational shop skills in a structured automotive service environment.Strong interest or desire to work in the automotive repair industry.Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn basic automotive maintenance and repair processes.Ability to follow written procedures, safety standards, and store processes.Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, service advisors, and store leaders.Valid driver's license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.Must be 18 years of age or older.Preferred:High school diploma or equivalent.Vocational or technical training school.General knowledge of under-hood, mechanical, and undercarriage assemblies.Previous shop, lube technician, tire technician, mechanical, customer service, or other hands-on work experience.State Inspector License, in applicable locations, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire if required by the store.Growth & DevelopmentThis role is an important first step in the back-of-house technical career path. Lube and Tire Technicians strengthen hands-on maintenance, inspection, documentation, safety, and shop operations skills while learning from more experienced technicians.
