Chaplain

The Salvation Army is hiring for the Chaplain position at the GPO – Haven of Hope Community Center. The position is available immediately and is part-time with varying schedules, including evenings and weekends.

The Chaplain reports to the Community Center Director and is paid $20.00 per hour.

The Chaplain will provide emotional, social, and spiritual services for program participants, clients, and Red Shield Family Residence and Eliza Shirley House families. The Chaplain will plan, organize, and deliver pastoral care services, devotional times, and spiritual programming. The Chaplain will also engage with program participants during outreach events and collaborate with program staff and the Community Center Director.

The duties are not exclusive or exhaustive, and the candidate will be required to undertake tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, formal ministry education preferred, minimum of 3 years' experience in a ministry position, comfortable engaging and evangelizing with the community, strong organizational skills, a professional attitude, ability to work evenings and weekends, valid PA Driver's License, and proof of completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse. The candidate must also meet the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153.
