**13 Weeks | Day Shift | 36 Hours/Week**

We are seeking an experienced **Orthopedic / Med-Surg Registered Nurse** for a **13-week travel assignment** in Herrin, Illinois.

**Requirements:**
* Active Illinois RN License
* Minimum 3 years of Med-Surg and/or Orthopedic nursing experience
* Current BLS Certification
* NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
* ACLS may be required if floated to designated units
* EPIC EMR experience preferred
* Strong orthopedic, post-surgical, and medical-surgical patient care experience

**Assignment Details:**
* 13-week contract
* 36 guaranteed hours per week
* **Day shift**
* Every other weekend required
* Floating required to clinically appropriate Med-Surg units based on competency and patient care needs
* No holiday coverage required
* EPIC EMR
* No 1099 contracts accepted

**Responsibilities:**
* Provide comprehensive nursing care for orthopedic and medical-surgical patients throughout hospitalization
* Perform patient assessments, administer medications, monitor post-operative recovery, and implement individualized care plans
* Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
* Monitor for changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to clinical needs
* Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and recovery expectations
* Maintain accurate electronic documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality standards
* Float to other clinically appropriate Med-Surg units as needed within scope of practice and demonstrated competencies
