Tech Polysomnographer/Sleep Tech

Job Summary:

A sleep technologist provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including in-center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic procedures, and patient education. This role involves overseeing sleep studies, ensuring accurate data collection, and supporting sleep center staff.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Document patient interactions, test orders, and obtain consent, verifying medical necessity and insurance approvals.
  
  
• 
  Prepare patients for testing, perform equipment fitting, and educate them on procedures.
  
  
• 
  Acquire and verify physiologic data, monitor data quality, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure artifact-free recordings.
  
  
• 
  Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events, generating detailed reports for clinical interpretation.
  
  
• 
  Maintain PPE and infection control standards through equipment disinfection and workspace organization.
  
  
• 
  Support quality initiatives and adhere to established protocols for sleep studies and ancillary testing.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) credential or equivalent certification.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 1+ year of experience working in a sleep laboratory setting.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in performing polysomnographic procedures, including scoring and data analysis.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients and team members.
  
  
• 
  Have current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
