This well-established healthcare network operates multiple urgent care clinic locations across the Richmond area, providing comprehensive episodic and primary care services to a diverse patient population from birth through end of life. The clinics operate seven days a week with strong administrative support and a collaborative care environment.

Job Details:

• Provide urgent care services across multiple clinic locations in the Richmond, VA area
• Locum and locum-to-perm opportunity covering 3 shifts per week until a permanent provider is hired
• Clinics operate 7 days a week, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM; shifts are 12 hours or more depending on patient flow
• Expected to see all patients who arrive during hours of operation
• Average patient volume ranges from 25 to 50 patients per day, with higher volumes expected during cold and flu season
• 100% outpatient practice setting
• Patient population spans birth to death and varies by clinic location and day
• Higher acuity patients will need to be transferred to an ED/ER for a higher level of care
• Perform laceration repair including simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling
• Perform incision and drainage (I&D) procedures including packing
• Perform foreign body removal and minor burn management
• Provide skin lesion care and orthopedic injury stabilization
• Perform splinting and casting as well as joint reduction procedures
• Conduct and interpret diagnostic and point-of-care testing including X-ray interpretation and EKG evaluation
• Review point-of-care lab results including rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing
• Manage epistaxis via anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery (silver nitrate)
• Perform cerumen impaction removal
• Provide airway support including administration of nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
• Documentation via Epic EMR
• Active Virginia medical license required
• Board certification required
• Active BLS and DEA certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting required
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required; no exceptions
• Local candidates or candidates willing to provide inclusive rates preferred; no travel reimbursement available
• Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60 to 90 days

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
