Registered Nurse (Full Time)

Responsibilities Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses for the Nursing Department. The Sierra Vista Hospital location is a 171‑bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento. It is a full‑service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral, and addiction problems. Position Summary The Staff Nurse (R.N.) prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care and practice. Cross‑functional training may be required to acquire skills that allow the nurse to work seamlessly throughout the facility. Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Associate’s degrees accepted; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience: At least six months of experience. Experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility preferred. Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing. Valid driver’s license preferred. Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of the hospital’s designated behavioral and physical management training program—including de‑escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint—are required prior to assisting in procedures.
