Project IMPACT is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services and family support programs to underserved and vulnerable populations throughout Los Angeles County.
Through its Department of Mental Health (DMH) programs, Project IMPACT provides therapeutic services designed to strengthen emotional well-being, promote healthy development, support families, and improve long-term outcomes.
Clarity HR Solutions is proud to partner with Project IMPACT in identifying experienced clinical leaders who share a commitment to clinical excellence, professional development, accountability, and community impact.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Part Time Licensed Clinical Supervisor (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC) with a minimum of two years of verified clinical supervisory experience directly supervising and leading Associate Mental Health Therapists to join the Project IMPACT clinical leadership team.
The ideal candidate is an experienced clinical leader who demonstrates strong supervisory skills, sound clinical judgment, excellent communication, and a commitment to developing associate therapists while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based mental health services.
This position plays an essential role in providing clinical oversight, mentoring associate therapists, ensuring compliance with California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health requirements, and supporting the organization's clinical productivity and quality assurance standards.
The Licensed Clinical Supervisor will oversee associate therapists providing services to children, adolescents, and young adults ages 0–26 , including individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health challenges, trauma histories, and complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Supervision & Leadership
- Provide ongoing individual clinical supervision to assigned Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs), Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASWs), and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCCs).
- Conduct a minimum of one hour of individual clinical supervision weekly for assigned associates, or additional supervision as required by applicable BBS regulations.
- Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and professional development to associate therapists working toward independent licensure.
- Monitor associate therapists' clinical performance, professional development, ethical practices, and progress toward licensure.
- Review clinical cases, diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, and therapeutic interventions to ensure appropriate clinical decision-making.
- Support associates in developing competencies in evidence-based treatment modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP).
- Identify clinical training needs and provide constructive feedback, coaching, and corrective guidance when necessary.
- Maintain accurate supervision records and complete required BBS supervision documentation.
- Ensure all supervision activities comply with applicable California BBS regulations and organizational policies.
Clinical Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Provide clinical oversight for mental health services delivered in office-based, school-based, and community settings.
- Review and approve clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation within applicable authorization and program requirements.
- Ensure clinical documentation meets Los Angeles County DMH standards, organizational policies, and applicable legal and ethical requirements.
- Monitor the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of documentation in the Exym Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Support associate therapists in meeting established productivity expectations, including a 15-20 hour weekly billable direct-service goal , as applicable to their positions.
- Identify documentation deficiencies and implement appropriate corrective actions and follow-up.
- Collaborate with the DMH Director, Head of Service, and clinical leadership to maintain high standards of clinical care and program compliance.
- Assist with clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and documentation reviews.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA, mandated reporting requirements, professional ethics, and confidentiality standards.
Team Development & Performance Management
- Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback to assigned associate therapists.
- Monitor clinical caseloads, productivity, documentation compliance, and overall performance.
- Identify performance concerns and collaborate with leadership to establish improvement plans when necessary.
- Promote accountability, professional communication, teamwork, and a supportive clinical learning environment.
- Participate in clinical team meetings, case consultations, and multidisciplinary treatment discussions.
- Respond promptly to management requests, clinical concerns, and communications.
- Support the onboarding, orientation, and professional development of newly hired associate therapists.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work culture focused on client outcomes and clinical excellence.
Client Care & Clinical Consultation
- Provide clinical consultation regarding complex cases, crisis situations, diagnostic concerns, and treatment planning.
- Guide associate therapists in delivering culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate mental health services.
- Support appropriate assessment and intervention strategies for children, adolescents, young adults, and families.
- Collaborate with families, schools, community providers, and other professionals to promote coordinated client care.
- Provide direct clinical services when necessary and within the scope of the position.
- Ensure that clinical decisions prioritize client safety, ethical standards, and evidence-based treatment practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Professional Clinical Counseling, or a closely related mental health field.
- Current, active, and unrestricted California clinical license as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
- Minimum of two years of verified experience providing clinical supervision and direct leadership to associate-level mental health therapists.
- Demonstrated experience supervising AMFTs, ASWs, and/or APCCs working toward independent licensure.
- Meet all applicable California Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements to serve as a clinical supervisor, including required supervisor training and qualifications.
- Experience providing clinical leadership, case consultation, performance feedback, and professional development to associate therapists.
- Strong knowledge of California BBS regulations, supervision requirements, clinical ethics, and documentation standards.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 0–26.
- Familiarity with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health requirements, documentation practices, and clinical standards.
- Experience with diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and clinical case management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple supervisory responsibilities while maintaining high standards of clinical care and documentation compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience serving as a Clinical Supervisor within a Los Angeles County DMH-funded mental health program.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Experience using Exym or a comparable Electronic Health Record system.
- Training or experience in TF-CBT, IPT, or CPP.
- Experience supervising school-based or community-based mental health programs.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, child development, developmental disabilities, and family systems.
- Experience conducting clinical chart audits, monitoring productivity, and supporting quality assurance initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring associate therapists toward independent licensure.
- Experience working with culturally diverse and underserved communities.
