Machine Operator

Job Summary

A well-rounded individual to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high regard to working in a safe and efficient manner each day. Will be trained to operate all different types of equipment and processes such as All-Across-Perforating Presses, Roll Leveler, Tension Levelling, Shears, Brake Press, roll former, Surface Grinders, material handling and secondary equipment and is required to perform such functions as directed by supervisor. The position entails the understanding of quality operations, shop math, drawings, specifications, and the use of precision measuring instruments. One will be required to operate various types of equipment depending on shop load demand. Exercising good judgment for planning and performing tasks and making practical decisions is essential. This position requires that the selected individual be capable to work independently with minimal supervision and follow company policies with a high regard for your safety and that of your co-workers. The position requires some lifting of reasonable weight. In addition, the individual will maintain legible paperwork such as inspection sheets, historical forms, and all other department paperwork such as data collection. Must maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Function in the Job

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function

• Follow daily planning and work schedule as defined.
• Ensure to consistently comply with defined Company quality policies and standards.
• Document required records and reports as directed by Supervision.
• Perform all duties as directed by Supervisor.
• Must be able to work from written and verbal instructions together with production support team.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet production deadlines.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED, two years related experience or equivalent.
• Ability to operate machinery (CNC operation and programming a plus) while upholding the highest regard for safety for yourself and all other team members.
• Experience in machine operation with proven skills to interpret technical documents, blue prints and measuring equipment in a job shop environment.
• Fabrication experience operating a press brake and shear.
• Math, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and computer skills.
• Able to perform various tasks; job requires one to operate multiple pieces of machinery.
• Must be motivated, team oriented and exercise good judgment to perform and make practical decisions.
• Must support company goals, ISO standards and Lean Mfg initiatives.
