Location: Our organization, a LEVEL 1 Time Critical Diagnosis facility specializing in Stroke, Trauma, and STEMI, is leading the way in innovative medical treatments, procedures, clinical trials, and holistic patient care. We are currently looking for a Registered Respiratory Therapist to become part of our team and are excited to offer a $20,000 sign-on bonus for new external applicants!*

• Schedule: Full-time, Night shift. 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts. Rotating holidays and weekends.
• Shift Differentials: Available for night shifts, weekends, and additional shifts.
• Licensure: RRT MO Licensure is mandatory.

Position Overview:

The respiratory therapist is a vital healthcare professional responsible for executing all diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care procedures as outlined by the Department of Respiratory Care. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and driven to contribute to the success of our expanding services. In uncertain situations, the therapist should consult with supervisory staff.

Key Responsibilities:

The following accountabilities are essential for this role:

• Maintain professional and respectful relationships with colleagues to foster a culture of safety.
• Conduct all respiratory-related therapeutic and diagnostic procedures in line with departmental policies and protocols. This includes:
• Implementing and assessing the function of oxygen and therapeutic gases.
• Setting up and executing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
• Administering aerosolized medications.
• Providing CPT and IPV.
• Setting up and monitoring ventilators according to departmental and hospital guidelines.
• Collaborating with peers and staff to enhance inter- and intradepartmental services and addressing issues as they arise.
• Performing CPR.
• Conducting diagnostic procedures such as ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, and nitric oxide pulmonary hypertension studies.
• Assess and reassess each patient's condition to determine their care needs, ensuring ongoing evaluation in response to treatment.
• Special duties may include interaction with physicians and nurses, potentially working in intensive care settings. Responsibilities may involve:
• Responding to critical areas (e.g., ER, OR, Code).
• Performing routine checks on Life Support Units.
• Assisting with bronchoscopy and minor cardiopulmonary procedures.
• Conducting bedside studies and interpreting complex lab data.
• Providing input on patient care decisions.
• Contributing to the prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia based on current evidence.
• Adhere to all other aspects of Respiratory Care as per hospital policies.
• Engage in safety and infection control practices, ensuring a clean and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Deliver exceptional service to all patients by providing timely, high-quality care in a courteous manner.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate documentation.
• Provide age-appropriate care across various patient demographics.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program is preferred.
• Experience: Leadership skills are advantageous and should be demonstrated.
• Licensure: Must be registered with the N.B.R.C and obtain a Missouri license within six months of hire.
