Person In Charge

Responsible for the night operation of the grocery store and workers. Approximately half of the shift is spent doing paperwork such as ordering groceries, counting cash and checks to balance tills and preparing night deposits. The other half of the shift is spent checking out groceries, bagging items, accepting payment and making change. Occasionally assisting customers to their vehicles with groceries and stocking and facing the store shelves. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: A commitment to high standards. Use of fingers, hands and arms. Use a 10 key calculator. Use basic math and calculate retail pricing. Establishes relationships with customers, suppliers and conducts company business in an ethical manner. Conscious of job principles, facts, procedures, and policy. Effectively direct and control work in area of responsibility. The ability to support and encourage employees, and help them with their job. Has leadership capabilities, gaining their support. To have the ability to train employees in their jobs. To understand the duties and responsibilities of all departments, such as Meat, Bakery/Deli and Produce Dept. Establishes good communication with store manager andother key carriers. An ability to exercise good judgement. Desire the knowledge of store manager. Confrontational skills. Good planning and organizational skills. Skills in problem solving and analysis.
