Staff Accountant

We are recruiting a Staff Accountant for a long standing company in Raleigh. Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Manage key balance sheet areas such as accruals, prepaids, leases, and fixed assets
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations across multiple business units
• Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Assist in the preparation of internal management reporting and analysis
• Perform variance analysis and investigate fluctuations, providing insight into key drivers
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Assist in maintaining and strengthening internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
• Participate in ongoing process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
• Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA or in process is ideal
• 2 years of relevant experience, public accounting experience is a plus
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting fundamentals
• Background in corporate, manufacturing, or other operationally focused environments preferred
