Description

* Programs primarily in Delphi (Pascal) to develop and maintain the MRP Manufacturing System.

* Provides technical service support; installation, maintenance, and software training support

* Develops and monitors procedures for personal computer and network management.

* Consults department managers on software applications, peripheral equipment, security functions and future requirements in departmental areas.

* Provides technical expertise for all network users in the areas of training, problem resolution, hardware and software upgrades.

* Generates and maintains IT budget.

* Supervises other IT personnel.

* Develops instructional programs and conducts training for computer users, in one-on-one and/or classroom settings, on the use of personal computers and software applications.

* Ensures that backup, recovery and security procedures are set up and performed as planned and necessary.

* Monitors the utilization of all networks to detect potential errors or problems and provides necessary prevention guidelines.

* Monitors networks to determine upgrade requirements and general utilization issues.

* Investigates, reviews needs, obtains price quotes, makes recommendations, installs and maintains network stability.

* Provides new application ideas to all areas of company where new technology can be utilized to gain better efficiency and improve company productivity.

* Overall responsibility for personal computer related programming issues and projects as required.

* Designs and tests program logic, codes programs, creates program documentation and prepares programs for computer operations.

* Works within specifications provided to meet programming assignment goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.

* Takes independent action to correct problems encountered during systems operations within authority level granted by COO.

* Creates and produces procedural documentation as required.

* Must be able to get along well with others.

* Must be able to meet company attendance requirements; must be flexible enough to modify work hours if system or company needs require it.

* Must be able to perform the job safely; must comply with company safety rules and procedures.

* Follows the lean philosophy and practices the 5 S’s on a daily basis.

* Performs other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

* Must have extensive experience in programming with Delphi (Pascal).

* Experience with SAP MRP systems.

* Able to support an interbase or Firebird database. This includes maintenance activities like backup/restore. Must know structured query language (SQL)

* Must have clear and effective verbal and written English communication skills: must be able to read, comprehend and work from written and verbal instructions.

* Minimum Associates Degree in computer science or information systems.

* Must be resourceful and have good time management skills

* Must have good general knowledge of data processing system design methods, techniques and standards.

* Minimum two years’ experience as a computer programmer.

* Must be able to work with limited supervision.
